SURFACEFLOW - Plastic film inspection

SurfaceFlow inspects blown film

Often when extruding plastic for use in packaging for food, carbon specks and contamination are not allowed. Our adaptive surface inspection package  is designed specifically for this application. The software will detect the following:

  • Gels
  • Holes
  • Carbon
  • Contamination
  • Wrinkles
  • etc.

The system on the right is a single camera system installed on a blown film line, 650mm wide running at 130 mpm. Deployed in one day, it is very easy for the operators to use. The challenge for this application is that the inspection system is placed after a rotary perforator. The system must not only inspect for defects, but check that the perforations are made and in place, while still looking for holes that should not be there. OneBoxVision's perforation analysis is a key
add on for this requirement.

SurfaceFlow can be used to inspect a wide variety of substrates:

  • Plastic film inspection.
  • Foil inspection.
  • Non-woven inspection
  • Glass inspection.
  • Currency inspection.
  • Textured inspection for non-woven and composite.
